With nearly two decades of coaching experience, James takes a holistic approach to fitness, focusing on strength, athletic performance, and overall health.


James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sports Science from East Carolina University, specializing as a Health Fitness Specialist. 


During his time at ECU, he honed his skills as a group fitness instructor, fitness advisor, and team leader at the university’s recreation and wellness center.


In 2010, James began working under the mentorship of renowned human performance specialist Todd Durkin at Fitness Quest 10, recognized by Men’s Health as one of “America’s Top 10 Training Facilities.”  


There, he worked with a wide range of clients, from everyday fitness enthusiasts and weekend warriors to Division 1 & professional athletes. 


His roster of professional clientele included former NFL stars like Drew Brees, Darren Sproles, Ricky Stanzi, Carson Palmer, Kyle Boller, and Gerald McCoy, as well as many other athletes from Major League Baseball, International Rugby, and Professional Wakeboarding.


James is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Health Fitness Specialist (HFS) through the American College of Sports Medicine. He has also earned credentials as a StrongFirst SFG1 Kettlebell and SFB Bodyweight Instructor, as well as a certified Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC) and Precision Nutrition Level 1 (PN1) Coach.


With this diverse expertise and experience working with both elite athletes and everyday individuals, James approaches fitness and wellness from every angle, empowering his clients to achieve their goals with a balance of performance, health, and sustainability.
