James Wheeler

Owner & Head Coach

James holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from East Carolina University in Exercise Sports Science with a concentration as a Health Fitness Specialist & has accumulated almost two decades of coaching experience with clients from all walks of life emphasizing a holistic approach to fitness focusing on strength, athletic performance, & health!

While attending university, James worked as a group fitness instructor, fitness advisor, and team leader at ECU’s recreation and wellness center. Afterward, in 2010, he began working under the mentorship of entrepreneur and human performance specialist Todd Durkin, whose training facility Fitness Quest 10 was subsequently voted “America’s Top 10 Training Facilities” by Men’s Health.

Many of James’s clientele included regular “Joe’s and Jane’s”, “Weekend Warriors”, and professional athletes from a wide range of major league sports such as the NFL, MLB, International Rugby, & Professional Wakeboarding.

James is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is endorsed by the American Council of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Specialist (HFS). He has since expanded his “toolbelt” to include certifications as a StrongFirst SFG1 Kettlebell & SFB Bodyweight Instructor.

Furthermore, he is a certified Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC) and a certified Precision Nutrition Coach (L1) solidifying his holistic approach to health and wellness.
